Your own private haven

We are a home away from home: A space which feels bright & airy, and fosters imagination, inspiration and creativity. Anahata Collaborative Venue is an industrial space in an old lumber building carefully designed to feel like a zen industrial loft space. This lumber building was originally built to be located ON a railway line to facilitate transportation of the lumber. Since then, the building has been remodeled and the railway has become THE paved cycling and walking path through Minneapolis and beyond now called the Midtown Greenway. We are fortunate enough to have our huge glass garage door open right on to our garden space and the Midtown Greenway giving us beautiful nature views, amazing south facing natural light, and easy accessibility by bike and pedestrian paths as well!

We are located in the heart of Uptown, Minneapolis which is a prime location in the LynLake area of Uptown. Within a block or two you can explore popular local businesses such as French Meadow Bakery, World Street Kitchen, Jungle Theatre, Common Roots Cafe, Milkjam Creamery, Moto-i, The Lynhall, Art Materials, Mpls Yoga, One Yoga, at our door step.

Even though our space is designed more like a cozy living space, it was also designed to be rearranged to suit your needs to a make your time here the best it can possibly be. Whatever you can dream up, we can make it happen: pop-up markets, photo/filming shoots, workshops, retreats, music events, weddings and more. All rentals are private rentals, meaning there will never be another client booked at the same time.

Anahata Collaborative is an accessible venue which accommodates up to 75 guests.

We are putting our stamp of approval on our Preferred Vendors and highly recommend them for your gatherings.

LOOKING FOR MORE? We specialize in creative, custom gatherings which are as unique as the people themselves: intimate out-of-the-box weddings, fundraising events, bridal party gatherings, off-site team building gatherings and more.

We had the honor of being the first couple to hold their wedding at Anahata Collaborative, in December 2018.

Choosing Anahata was one of the best decisions we made throughout the planning process, and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience! We found Anahata online in December 2017.

From the start, Lara – the owner and founder – was so welcoming, responsive, organized, and flexible with us as we planned our entire wedding from out-of-state, save for a few trips to meet her and scope out the venue.

The moment we walked in we knew it was the right place for us. The unique feel and flexibility of the space was the perfect canvas on which we could paint our vision of an intimate, warm, evening winter wedding – both ceremony and reception.

Lara and Lauren – Anahata’s wedding coordinator with whom we consulted, who was also amazing – graciously accommodated helped us refine our ideas for how to decorate, set up for, and transition between the ceremony and reception. We’d been to weddings and visited venues that felt cavernous, where the energy dissipates. Instead we wanted the feeling of being gathered around a cozy hearth for the ceremony, then involving as many guests as possible for the dancing in the reception. We achieved this easily!

We did our rehearsal the night before the wedding, and did all our own set up the day of – rented furniture, floral displays, and other decorations. Throughout the night, we used the loft room as a quiet place for the bride and other guests, had the bar in the side room underneath the loft, sound and music station in the corner outside the bar, and desserts and appetizers in the kitchenette area. All this considered, our 120+ guests (180 invitees) fit completely comfortably during the ceremony, with half sitting and half standing, and tall tables lining the back wall. For the reception we cleared the center of the room for dancing and set up a lounge area to one side. Our guests fit comfortably in this configuration too. We had coat racks in the hallway outside the room and stored excess furniture in the stairwell. We did not serve dinner, though we probably could have done a buffet along the back wall if we’d had fewer than 100 guests. We hired the preferred caterer, Common Roots Catering, for the bar and appetizers, which worked without a hitch.

The whole thing couldn’t have gone more perfectly! And the fact that we can say that as the first wedding at Anahata speaks to Lara’s magic and the magic of the space. We’re so, so grateful we chose Anahata, and hope you choose it for your wedding or event as well!
